Artist Statement
My practice is centred around personal experience and theoretical experimentations with time and space from the perspective of my disabled body/mind. Using a diverse range of media such as video, painting, collage, photography, and most recently experimental animation, I build worlds and break them down. By using a decolonial critical disability studies’ framework and methodologies to resist the “blood sweat and tears” ideal of laborious productivity, I attempt to visualize my navigation and imagining of spaces that are both privileged and difficult. By functioning as a funhouse mirror, my work aims to reframe and (re)present temporalities.
